It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Dunedin to celebrate 100 years of RACS in the same city and month where it all began back in 1927.

The RACS Founders Centenary will start on Thursday 11 February with a cultural competency workshop facilitated by Otago University's MIHI department and the 2027 Louis Barnett Prize finalist presentations. The 2027 prize will be a very special occasion as, not only will it be held in the theatre named after Sir Louis Barnett, we will also be joined in person by as many past winners as possible.

The Aotearoa New Zealand Annual Scientific Meeting: Evolution Through Necessity will then be held the following two days and will give us all an opportunity to reflect on the evolution of surgery over the past 100 years while also looking forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead. Friday also includes a highlight of the programme, the Centenary Dinner at Larnach Castle, complete with a traditional cèilidh and haggis ceremony.
